  1. ARROUND 5000 STUDENTS OF THE CAPITAL MISS SCHOOL CLASS EVERY DAY

In the morning should be in class the teacher's response. But actually pass the long hours smoking dope in parks, in malls, in a friend's house playing video games or just wandering the city streets. Many make pellets on the backs of their parents. In other cases, parents know it, but they have gotten out of hand and can not do anything about it.
Truancy has now reached to 5000 under-age in the capital. However, this figure refers only to cases detected, so the problem may be larger. The pellets resulting in future continuing addiction to drugs and alcohol or an increase in violence.
To end, the City Council approved an extension of the control program of truancy. This plan, started in 2003, works with children to ensure they attend class and authorities contact with their families to involve parents in the education of their children. This program involves schools, teachers and guardians called agents (municipal police officers that act as psychologists)

    Comment to the news article:

I think it's a mistake not to attend class. It is a problem for the society.
According to this news, the City Council will increase the control over the truants. The Council will increase the parental involvement. It seems to indicate that parents do not love their children, or do not like to have control of them, or they do not do as much as they can.
In my opinion, parents do as much as they can. But I think that the root of the problem is not parents, but the society and the leaders. We can notice, watching at the TV set, many empty places at the Congress. It looks like politicians do as this young people do missing class.
Some situations generate the society ambient. For example: lack of work, political and economic corruption, social teaching to individualism and not to the cooperation, lack of moral and of righteousness in the society… They bring people to an increasing stress, uncertainty, reluctance, distrust, discourage, etc. This happens especially to the weakest ones. They affect too much to the young people because they increase the lack of hope. And many young people foresee a bad future full of corruption.
The young people need to be encouraged by exemplary leaders and not just by wording or by control. That is the main part of the solution and not only to involve more the parents.
The article nothing says about this solution and because of that, I do not like this news article. It is too simple, and I think it is only useful for filling-up a column in the newspaper. May be it is also useful for focusing us on parent guiltiness and distract us from observing politicians duties. It shows to me that it is very easy to put others at the finger tip, or blame them (parents), forgetting our proper duties (society leaders).

  2. Marta Muñoz Silgo.

I totally agree with Luis opinion. From my point of view most of the parents do as much as they can. Many of them take their children to school and that's a way of controlling them, but once they leave them there, it depends of the teenager; he/she is the one who decides whether to attend school or not. I think that the root of the problem is the society because, even dough it's a decision that the teenager makes, they seem to be kind of force to do it.

  3. In my opinion, if children don´t want to go to class, they are not going to go. As much effort as parents or the police put, this is because as you have said, is the fault of society, lack of motivation to be something in life, being influenced by bad ..

So, that situation must be remedied. To fix this you have to motivate people, because I'm sure that those children who are in the park have a dream but a lack of confidence in themselves will not let them get to him.

  4. I think we can resolve this problem in the future! Because some pupils thinks that to be in class is lose their time because they are bored in class, so if teachers make the class more entertain and participate the students will go to class, and they don't waste their time in other activities.

  5. First, I completely agree with the opinion of Luis. I think society is very damaging to the youth of today because even if the parents want to control their children, however much they try once they are in school they decide what to do with their lives and leisure time.
On the other hand, besides being a societal problem, I think by the schools are not exercising hard enough that this issue needs, in addition to political groups, which separate most of the time this issue along with other side priority, as is happening lately to order or change their surnames.

  6. This is something that always has happened, but I remember when I was a child and if some student wasn´t in class, the teachers inmediatly gave a list to a person who called to our parents. Later when you arrived at home, your parents asked you about where have you been that day, and if you didn´t tell the true, you couldn´t go out for a month, this has happened to me.
Therefore, the problem is that now, the society support everything, and parents are less severe.
Punishment should be imposed, because even the compulsory secondary education, all students must attend school.

  7. I believe that this issue would be solved if politicians were a little more strict and more concerned with the education of citizens, in this case young people.

    Thanks for your opinions!

  8. About my opinion, I think that every time the society is advancing these problems are bigger.
The problem of the hooky in the centers of secondary are caused by the lack of motivation of the pupils to be present at class or it can be also because the parents don`t impose the laws of the center on his children.
To the first ones that accuse them, they are to the teachers, but they don´t have the fault because they are doing his work.

  9. I agree with clara, because I think that if a person don´t want to study, he is not going to study, because nobody can change yours thoughts.
In my opinion this kind of problems don't have solution.
maybe a student can change his opinion himself, but only himself.

  11. I'm my opinion this is a problem too difficult because the police or the goverment cannot put a policeman with each student for go to school.

If a student decides not to go to school is his or her own problem but we should to arouse child that if they don't study in the future probably will live in poor conditions compared with other persons who have studied in the past.

  12. In my opinion,it is a problem for the society because, if, for example, the police and the economic corruptionit, lack of work, social teaching to individualism and not to the cooperation, lack of moral and of righteousness in the society... if this haven´t influence in people,in general,in the world.
If the society was better...the studen should have a bid future.

  13. I agree with nuria, because it should have more control over school attendance. we should make children complete that, then if they want to study bachillerato we don´t have to be compulsory but they have to do something, do not have to do school but do not let them be at home doing nothing.
