  1. A student finishes an activity of history and sends it to his teacher by an email.
A program corrects the activity of true and false.
The teacher come in to class, and instead of said to the students that they have to open the book, he ask they to open the laptop.
Since last year, the project "Escuela 2.0" is working in some school of Spain, with primary students, the children work with electronic black boards, laptops, internet...
The teachers evaluated the participation of the pupils. Although, there is a lot of things to do until the teachers will be really ready to use correctly the new technologies.
About 75.000 teachers, of 550.000, take part into a course about these new technologies during the course 2009-2010.
Elia García, the director of the school Ramón y Cajal (Cuenca), said that the student takes part with the computer really enthusiastic, but there is a problem because the teachers that want to use the new technologies spend 15 min at least. One of the reasons of the use of “Escuela 2.0” in front the last one of the informatics classes was the waist of time, moving the students from to one class to another. The high school Agua da Laxe (Pontevedra), decided not to use these equipment, because they said that will be a lot of problems accord to the maintenance of the laptops and the impact into the connection of internet in the school.
Other schools think that “Escuela 2.0” is an utopia objective, and said that the computer are like other tool that doesn’t resolve any problem by their self.
Some “comunidades autónomas” start slowly and now are accelerating with the development of “Escuela 2.0”. They are getting more laptops to the classes and more digital black board. Some school is not capable to have all these technologies, so the parents associations are complaining because their children can’t have the opportunity of use the new technologies.
The minister of education said that in 2012 all the “comunidades autónomas” will be into the project “Escuela 2.0”. But although the schools have all these technologies the exams, still working with the old method.

As I see it, the new technologies could help in class in some times, to make the classes more dynamic. But I still prefer in more of the cases the old method, with papers ,pens and books.

  2. From my point of view, using computers, whiteboards, new technology is very important today, as it is widely used by everybody and in all fields. Taking this into account, children at schools should have a starting knowledge on this type of technology.Despite of this, we must not leave behind the old methods. It is necessary to continue teaching in this way, to improve writing and spelling, and the use of other materials etc ...

  3. In my opinion new technologies are making personal treatment so difficult. It is normal that teachers need to involve and adapt to new teaching methods, but I think the traditional one shouldn’t be forgotten like read book, write in paper with pencil, etc

  4. It is news that we ourselves are living at the university.
Of course, it is much better not having to go to college to make the new technology as an everyday tool for work.
It is true that some years ago, someone dared to imagine the situation resembled a genuine utopia, but .... in the end it could be and here we have improved a lot.
For all this I greatly value the subjects in which a new technology and we as teachers are taking this into account, not to be obsolete.

  6. As far as I concerned, this kind of projects are extremely useful, however, in my opinion there have to exist a balance between new technologies and old methods of teaching. We're gonna be teachers in four years, probably, and if I can, I'll use every single gadget that I'll have, but I'll also try to combine with the "oldfashion" methods as using paper and pen. I think that it's the best option.

  7. The use and knowledge of new technologies is essential in day to day, so when we transmit the knowledge to teach.
In the not too distant future the technology will be used for anything, anywhere, including classrooms , so we teach to use them from the start, even if it means to prepare and make the most of the time, because these activities take time.
Although the use of new technologies is the future, we must not forget the traditional learning with pencils, notebooks .. because for a lot of knowledge is insuplantable.
We must learn to combine these two methods of study as future teachers.

  8. It is a fantastic idea to use new technologies in the teaching and learning process but I don´t agree when the post says that it is a waisting time because I think if you want to carry out a proyect it is necessary to teach the teachers, who use this program for the first time and are teaching, how the program works.
Of course you spend some time learning but after that all the proccess is faster because the learning of this programmes is included in the degree.
Anyway I support the combination of technological and classical teaching and learning methods.

  9. Great! but maybe the new tecnologies isn't a good idea for all. I'm very frightened with our virtual comunity, because a document that I send to a teacher could lose and i'll be fail.

  10. would be nice if we find a balanced use of technologies and typical methods of teaching.
We can´t forget that computers could make kids to be independent and thats not good.

  11. I agree with having to use the new methods but also that they must continue with the former because I believe that new methods are beneficial for them, but a good student studies with pencil and paper
