The news I have chosen speak about the possibility of evaluating teachers for improved education of children.
It tells the story of Washington Hall and the exaggerated dismissal of teachers in their job by a poor assessment.
As a result of that has produced the fall of that government in the primary because of his political education and the drastic layoff.
I have found interesting this new.
In my opinion Teachers now and always have had a big responsibility. They are and we are engaged in forming new generations, new doctors, new lawyers, engineers and workers. We can not forget to take into account Education. Without education a country is lost.

So I think it is important to have a directly assessment the teachers, but instead of abandoning the faculty if they do badly, government must provide them some support and training to improve teaching.
It is very controversial, but we can not stop commenting and trying to improve education.
So this law is being weighed by many countries.
Education is so important that we can not leave her side.
What do you think about this news?

  2. Nuria M. - C3 (EP):
In my opinion, the way to evaluate teachers in classrooms has adventages and disadvantages.

First of all, evaluating teachers is a way to improve the lessons in classrooms, being sure that the lessons everyday will be as an exam for the teacher, it means that everyday will be a good lesson which has been preparated by the teacher with persistence.

However, to be evaluated in classrooms could be very stressful for the teacher, who doesn´t know what exactly want students from him.

I think it must be a kind of game in class, for example, at the end of the class the teacher can give a paper to the students where they can evaluate:

-If the teacher is concerned with stimulating interest of students.
-The teacher meets with interest the students' queries.
-Testing exercises are similar to class.
-The teacher accurately assess students' efforts
    -Etc.

Next, students must put the score of 1 to 5, and so the teacher will know which aspects should be modified in their classrooms.

  3. so you mean that the evaluation must be done by the children??
it is very dificult because you have to think that there are differente ages, and a 7 year old boy can not make a good evaluation from their teachers.

  4. Sara B I agree with you..
If you share out a paper at the end of the class to your students with that intention, some students could take it seriously but others might think it is a joke.
I strongly believe that if a teacher prepares his/her classes properly,( with fun activities or good explanations which they could include little tricks to remember the grammar for example) teaching the kids would be the least of his/her worries

  5. I think pupils of Primary Education aren't mature enough to evaluation the teacher's work because most of the time they are thinking about games and their free time.

  7. I completely agree with your article Sara.
Teachers must always be good teachers because they will teach us.
Probably, many people may think that teachers do not have the obligación to educate students. In my opinion I think there are two types of teachers:
1 - Teachers who motivate to students to keep working and striving to meet their future plans.
2 - Teachers who do not show any kind of motivation when themselves are working.
I, as a student, I prefer the first type of teacher

  8. i agree with you too, because if teachers weren't good, we probably don't know a lot of things that we know now.

  9. I agree with you.
I think that all the teachers who give the education must do at least an evaluation where there are demonstrated the capacities and the knowledge that the teacher has to give his classes.
All teachers must be able to transmit the knowledge that it has on the matter to the pupils.
To the teachers who have bad this evaluation, it is necessary to them to give the second opportunity

  10. sara, the idea of evaluating teachers is not bad but be careful, because it would not be fair to evaluate a teacher when you have a bad day. The positive side, the teacher has to work harder. The downside, evaluating a teacher involves much more than the approval or otherwise of their work.

  11. One the one hand i'm agree with you all teachers should have a control by their pupils because not only students shoud improve their work also. But in the other hand I find it a measure too harsh beacuse if a teacher fail the evaluation could improve their job but if he or she are dismissed will not change nothing.

  12. I agree with Sara. The idea of evaluating a teacher is very abstract because in a highschool, students can become targets (which I doubt), but a child of 6 years, how can reach an opinion about their teacher? On the other hand, I think while your teaching methods are not out of the illegal, who cares how you do if your students learn what is required by R.D. and they are happy with you?

  13. I believe that students today are not trained to evaluate teachers because they are evaluating as they fall and not as taught.

  14. I agree with this kind of evaluation, but not as something negative that serves to dismiss, but as something positive that will help teachers to know what are their mistakes when they have to educate and help them to improve.
